Finding Your Centre: The Gentle Strength of Qigong (and How to Join Me for 3 Hours of Calm)

Come learn how to feel as peaceful in town as you do watching the sunrise on a mountain
Come learn how to feel as peaceful in town as you do watching the sunrise on a mountain

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could just switch off for a moment… slow down… breathe… find some calm,” then I have a little secret for you. Actually, it’s not much of a secret—it’s been around for thousands of years. It’s called Qigong, and it’s basically meditation in motion: slow, graceful, purposeful movements that help the body release stress, the mind find quiet, and the spirit feel a little more at home.

And no—you don’t have to be bendy, fit, or enlightened to give it a go. You just need a body, a breath, and a willingness to show up as you are.

Why Qigong?

1. Grounding in the Present

Life has this habit of sweeping us along—emails, family, deadlines, dishes… you know the drill. Qigong helps bring you back to your feet, literally. Each movement draws your attention down, rooting you into the earth. You feel steadier, calmer, less like you’re being buffeted about by the wind.

2. Finding Your Centre

Ever feel like you’re juggling a hundred things at once, and they’re all on fire? (Just me?) Qigong gently gathers you back to your centre—your core of calm—so you can respond to life instead of just reacting.

3. Building Energy (Without Coffee!)

Instead of giving you that buzzy, caffeine-fueled high, Qigong cultivates smooth, sustainable energy. You walk away feeling lighter, clearer, and quietly powerful—as if your batteries actually got recharged instead of drained.

4. Peace in a Busy World

The biggest gift of Qigong is that it offers a tiny pocket of peace, even when the outside world feels loud, chaotic, and relentless. It’s like a reset button you can press anytime.

3-Hour Qigong Workshop – Nelson

Later this year, I’m hosting a 3-hour Qigong workshop in Nelson where we’ll explore:

  • Grounding – simple, powerful practices to feel more stable and secure in your body.

  • Finding Centre – connecting with your inner calm, even when life feels wobbly.

  • Building Energy – moving in ways that restore, recharge, and re-energise you.

This won’t be a lecture. It’s a hands-on, heart-led workshop where we’ll move together, laugh a little, and discover how Qigong can give you that sense of ahhh… I can breathe again.

You’ll leave with practical tools you can weave into daily life—whether that’s two minutes between meetings or a longer practice when you need deeper reset.
