Final Community Clinic - 19th December
Dear Community Clinic whānau,
I wanted to let you know that this coming Friday will be the last time I will be running the community clinic. While I will still be running private clinic part time next year, this Friday will be our last community clinic for the year, and my last clinic with you. This decision comes from needing to step back from several commitments to recover from burnout and focus on restoring my own health.
From next year it will be taken over by Bonnie Barrow, a lovely acupuncturist with 25 years experience. Bonnie plans on running the clinic monthly to begin with at a new day and time, so please keep in touch with her or Victory Community Centre for more info on this in the New Year. You can find her details here: https://www.authenticityacupuncture.co.nz/
Over the past seven years, I have genuinely loved getting to know you all. The stories, the humour, and the connection we’ve shared have meant more to me than I can easily put into words — especially the truly ridiculous stories and inappropriate jokes so many of you brought in with you. I love a good story, and you never disappointed.
There were many days when I wasn’t sure I was up to coming in at all. Days when I was tired, run down, or close to tears, and wondered whether I had the capacity to hold space for anyone else’s worries. But I always turned up. And without fail, someone would ask how I was — and it helped. Every time. I always left community clinic feeling better than when I arrived, because of you. Because of the kindness, humour, and openness of the people who trusted me with their health and their lives.
Thank you — for coming in, for trusting me, and for sharing parts of your lives with me. It has been an honour to walk alongside you.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
